A helicopter crashed on September 20, 2009, in San Diego County. The crash occurred in a remote area of North San Diego County and two people were hurt in the accident.

San Diego Sheriff's Lt. Gary Steadman reported on the incident, noting that the crash occurred very near Valley Center and was reported around 2:30 p.m.. However, due to the remote area of the crash, the helicopter was not located until 20 minutes later. Nick Shuler, Fire Battalion Chief, said that the crash scene was not easily accessible for firefighters and paramedics to reach. There has been no immediate report on the cause of the crash or what type of helicopter it was that crashed.

Did Billy Mays, the 50-year-old celebrity pitchman, die of a minor traumatic brain injury (MTBI) following a "hard" landing by a US Airways flight between Philadelphia and Tampa, Florida?

That is the question buzzing around the internet right now.

Mays had been flying home to Tampa after filming an OxiClean commercial in Philadelphia when the front tire of his US Airways flight exploded following the hard landing. Initially no serious injuries were reported and Mays posted on his Twitter feed about the hard landing saying it was par for the course with US Airways. After the landing, objects fell from the ceiling, although it is unclear what those objects were, and hit Mays in the head.

After landing, Mays told a local news crew about the hit to his head:

"All of a sudden as we hit," Mays said. "You know it was just the hardest hit. All the top...you know the things from the ceiling started dropping and it hit me on the head, but I got a hard head."

Mays was found dead at his home the next day by his wife, Deborah. Reportedly, Mays did not feel well when he went to bed later that night. No other major health problems have been disclosed.

A pilot of a small Piper Comanche crashed into a hillside at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station yesterday as it was heading to Brown Municipal field. The California airplane accident occurred shortly before 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11. According to the FAA, the pilot made no distress call and simply fell off of radar and radio communication. The plane and its' pilot were found and the pilot has been declared dead on scene. FAA officials investigating the crash found that the plane was registered to a Burbank man, but it is not known whether he was the pilot. No other passengers were on board.

The airplane had left from Whiteman Airport in the Los Angeles suburb of Pacoima with its' planned destination as Brown Field in the San Diego suburb of Otay Mesa. FAA officials are still investigating the airplane crash.
