Riverside SUV Accident Leaves Elderly Pedestrian Injured

64-year-old Maria Carachure was injured in a Riverside pedestrian accident that occurred on August 21, 2011, around 8:46 p.m. at California Avenue and Heidi Road. According to Sgt. Dan Reeves, the pedestrian was struck by a 1996 Mitsubishi Montero driven by 59-year-old Celia Scott of Riverside.

According to the authorities, Scott failed to see Carachure walking across the unmarked cross walk and struck her.

Based upon a reading of Section 21950, it is quite possible that both the driver and pedestrian may be responsible for this pedestrian accident. Under the responsibilities set forth by California law, the injured victim may still be able to recover damages to cover treatment, medical expenses, hospital costs, and other accident-related expenses.

The injured pedestrian should immediately seek counsel from an experienced Riverside County pedestrian crash lawyer to learn about her legal rights and options.
Our personal injury law office sincerely hopes that the injuries suffered by Carachure do not prove life-threatening and heal soon.
