San Diego County Auto Accident Victim Found in Tijuana River Valley
The body of a two year old boy was found around 1:30p.m on January 27, 2010, north of the Goat Canyon area of southwestern San Diego County. It was spotted near Hollister Street and Monument Road in Goat Canyon by a rescue worker of Desert Angels.
The body is believed to be that of the pre-schooler who had been washed away in a San Diego County auto accident in Tijuana River’s raging waters last Wednesday. Among the family of five, only the father survived. The bodies of the wife/mother and eldest daughter were found soon after, but those of his two kids--a 5-year old girl and her 2-year old brother--were missing. U.S. Border Patrol Agent Daryl Reed thinks that the recovered body might be that of the toddler.
The storm had caused the water in a local dam to overflow leading to difficulty in navigating the roads. The family was in their Honda Civic and was trying to cross the flooded road when the incident happened. Our prayers go out to the father who has had to face such a tragedy in his life.
