Teenager Injured After San Diego Pedestrian Accident
A San Diego County boy was struck by a motor vehicle in Rancho Penasquitos, leaving him seriously injured, according to police. The boy is only 15 years old.
The collision occurred just after 7 a.m. when the boy was trying to run across Carmel Mountain Road on the 13500 block of the residential neighborhood. San Diego police officer Brad Ruff reports that the teenager was around Defreitas Avenue on Carmel Mountain Road. The boy suffered a compound fracture in his left leg, and needed paramedic assistance to take him to a hospital, where he was treated. Due to the injury, Black Mountain Road heading south was closed between Oviedo Street and Carmel Mountain Road closed until 11 a.m. for the accident to be investigated.
